Quarantine Portraits: Flowers

How is everybody feeling? This has been a really hard week for me. Same old, same old to things at home but it's rained for about 146 days straight. And the divisiveness of our country-- whether it's the face mask controversy or the riots and injustices of systemic racism, my heart is left feeling a bit hopeless. Answers, right now, seem impossible. And THAT idea is crazy overwhelming.

And when I feel this way, I do my best to find peace and balance in my own life-- which usually involves meditation and getting outside. And I also create, which is my lifeline.

It feels kind of silly to be taking portraits with flowers in my hair with all that's going on in the world but it's actually exactly the time to do it. We can't allow the best of ourselves to be lost in the chaos right now. We all deserve to feel and experience our humanity-- and beauty, life, breathe and color is just as much a part of that.

So here are more self portraits. I'm getting real sick of looking at my own mug, y'all! I can't wait to photograph my clients again. But today is not that day. So I'm going to bake. Everyone that buys a package from me will also receive a little box of homemade cookies as a little personal touch. (I also used to work as a professional baker so I promise they won't suck!) I like that I can add another love into the mix of my business. :)

Many, many hugs and blessings to you all. Take care of yourselves in every way possible. xoxo
